  • Tips to Identify Audi Electrical Problems From Experienced Mechanics in Spring

    Audi Electrical Problem

One of the key factors that help Audi vehicles stand out is the fact that a majority of the parts, features, and components are electrical. Electrical parts are sleek in the way they look and are also able to perform at a better rate than solely mechanical parts. With that being said, even electrical problems can occur. It is always best to regularly keep up with your Audi’s proper maintenance schedule. Though you are doing this, there are still chances that electrical problems will arise. In order to better prepare you for how to deal with electrical problems, below you will find common issues with electrical components that you should be on the lookout in your Audi.

    Battery Problems

If you are experiencing an electrical problem in your Audi, the first place to check is going to be the battery. The battery is responsible for supplying power to all the parts that require electricity to work properly. So if there is an issue with the battery in your Audi, you are going to start to have issues with one or more of the electrical components in your vehicle.

The battery of your Audi should last you around two years, but this is subject to change depending on if you live in a harsh climate or if they are faulty to off the factory line. In addition to a dying battery, the battery terminals have the potential of becoming corroded because these parts are exposed to the elements. If corrosion happens, then a proper electrical current will not be able to form. Without this flow of electricity, you will experience electrical problems throughout your Audi.

    Water Damage

Inside your Audi, the dashboard and other interior controls are all set up to function fully electrical. This system is called the Multi-Media Interface. It is responsible for entertainment, navigation, and other electronic applications. This piece is integral in providing you with a luxurious ride every time you drive your Audi. The only downfall is that the Multi-Media Interface is located underneath the cupholders. Being underneath the cupholders means that it has the potential to experience electrical problems due to leaks. Even if you are careful not to spill drinks in your Audi, if condensation gets through the cupholders and onto the Multi-Media Interface, then it will be negatively impacted. Once compromised, the entire component will need to be replaced.

    Faulty Window Motors

The last common electrical problem that you can run into with your Audi is in regards to the window motors. The window motors in your Audi operate fully electrical, which means that at the flip of a switch, they will go up or down. This motor sends electrical signals to the regulator in order to let it know when it is time to raise or lower the windows. Over time, the motor and the regulator are prone to internal wear and tear that can cause the window to no longer follow commands. One of the main reasons for this is a lot of internal weight putting a strain on these two parts if the windows are tinted or heavy with stickers. A key indicator that the motor or regulator is stressing under the weight of the window is a loud whirring sound as these parts are attempting to lift the window back into place.
